Titanium Military : Fluted or Non-Fluted ?

I had a fluted Ti Military once upon a time. But I (foolishly) sold it a couple years ago. So I'm about to order another one. Then I saw the plain titanium version and it looks nice too. Just looking to see who prefers which type of titanium handle (fluted or non-fluted) and why ? I'm aware of the difference in price between the two but I don't care.

So which do you like ?

I prefer the fluted version for two reasons. The contouring and the aesthetics.

They are both great, really not a wrong answer here :D

Both are amazing......if I could get either.....fluted all day long! I have the Ti Millie and it is absolutely a fantastic beast of a slicer!! Beast!! Only thing that could be better......fluted!
The only reason I didn't get it was because the regular one was on sale at GP for $189 at Christmas time!! Couldn't pass it up!!
Good luck and let us know which you decide on Wolvie!!!

I heard that a few years back the fluted Ti handles were of a darker color (bluish gray). Now they seem to be more silvery. I do like the look of the plain Ti handle with it's gray tone. But I really enjoyed the grip of the fluted Ti handle. I may have to get both (knew that was coming).

I'm also anxiously awaiting the release of the limited run Militaries from KW.

Fluted. It's lighter, contoured, feels awesome in-hand, and looks amazing.

You're right about the blueish ones, but they stopped because Sal said the blue was wearing. They were gorgeous!
Both is the way to go!!
The newer ones also have steel inserts Wolvie! Mine locks up tight!! Action is perfect and it feels quite substantial in hand! Just a great knife.

I need one myself but haven't jumped yet. One possible upside to the non-fluted is it would likely be easier to fit with a tip up clip without the handle contouring.

Fluted!

Looks great!

Feels more secure in the hand due to the rounding and texture of the fluting.

It's slightly lighter and slightly more expensive.

Well I hate to be contrary but I love the plain Ti scales. Love the feel and looks better. For me the ultimate would be contoured smooth Ti scales.

But is the non-fluted Ti handle prone to scratching ? The darker gray is def appealing but I'm leaning toward the fluted Ti right now.

Yep, I'm down with every word of this. ^ I like the contour of the fluted but its a bit fancy looking for me and I don't love the feel of the grooves in hand.

-As far as the regular ti scratching, it's not that prone and actually looks really nice as it wears IMO.

It's funny , in a lot of ways the PM2 is like a smaller Military. But I have zero interest in the PM2 whereas the Military really does it for me (especially the Ti versions , obviously). I think the larger size fits my hand better and I like the bigger blade for all-around use.

I'm hoping that (in addition to the Nirvana) May brings the release of the limited edition Militaries from KW (M4 , S90V , etc).

Fluted; contour, lighter and better grip. I still prefer CF over all the other options...

Quite a few nice Military coming soon:

  • Military CPM-S90V TI CF with R.I.L. Lock KnifeWorks
