Started looking through an EDC pocket dump picture thread and noticed a lot of cool pens so I tried searching on this forum and youtube but could hardly find a peep about the Titanium Modular Kubaton. There was one thread on here about 5 yrs ago where Rick got involved in the discussion...

Why isn't anyone talking about this? If you have one, please talk about it.

Thanks!

What questions do you have about it?

It's been discussed a bit here and on the other forum. There's not much to say. It's a bad ass pen. Both the Ti and alum versions of the extreme duty pen are great tools. The Ti Investigator pen is just as tough but easier to carry.

They come in assorted colors and finishes so you have quite a few options to choose from.

Right now I'm EDC'n a anodized blue Ti Investigator pen. It never leaves my pocket!

I'd like a general consumer report compared to the competition. The only "nice" pen I have is a camo fisher space pen so I'm pretty ignorant of the marketplace.

I'm pretty much at the same place I was (in knife terms) when I bought my first SOG Aegis...my how my inventory has changed!

Thanks for your help.

Gotcha! I'm sure those who have them will chime in.

I've had both ED pens and the Investigator pen. I love them both. I carry the ED pen and the Investigator on duty. Off duty I just carry the Investigator in the same pocket as my knife. I'll post pics in a bit.

Just took a few pics to show the size of the Ti Investigator. I would have done some comparo shots with the ED pen but the 2 that I have are in my locker at the station. I'll get around to it.

Sorry about the cell phone pics.

You can see that even though the pen is small. When in the hand there is def enough of the pen sticking out to do "work" with. :D

Great pics. Is there a big difference between the Investigator (same as extreme duty?) and kubaton aside from the attachment option?

Size. I'm sure attachments for the Investigator may be coming soon. Right Rick? ;)

Yup!! a multi-tude of end attachments will be available for the Investigator pen as well!!

So I guess since this conversation is limited to the three of us that the Kubaton isn't widely used by members on the forum?

I look forward to seeing/reading more on this. I honestly don't have anything to offer since I haven't purchased one (YET!). I look forward to hearing more/learning more about the Investigator and the attachments to come.

I'm sure we're not the only three that use Rick's gear. We're just the few that love talking about it. :D
