Titanium Nitride Coating for Knives

My brother has a old skinner that our oldest brother made in shop class from a truck leaf spring back in 1966 before he shipped off to Vietnam in 1967.
He said he had seen some Buck and Gerber knives coated with this stuff this past year when he was working in Purdoe Bay Alaska. Where could he send his old skinner to have this process done ? Any idea about the cost ?
Any leads would of great help.

Search for gun coating or refinishing and you'll find them. The price would have to be quoted but I would think the coating is not that much. Under $150 is possible based on the prices quoted for a slide but if you had any imperfections removed or filled that could add to the cost some.
