Titanium pocket clip retention?

I have two knives with Ti pocket clips. Neither of them have very good retention to the point where I am nervous carrying them. They both just seem to not have a lot of tension. Is this common with Ti pocket clips?

My WH B12 Terrain and my WH E10 have the same style of pocket clip except one is Ti and the other is steel. The difference in retention is incredible.

I'm just wondering if it is worth fiddling with or something I will just have to deal with.

Thanks.

I have never noticed a retention problem with titanium clips, a material that most of my knives with clips uses. It might just be your particular examples. I would think that it would have a lot more to do with the design and the thickness of the clip than the type of metal it is made from.

That's why I mentioned my two william henrys. Design and thickness are identical.

My Kershaw tilt's clip retention isn't good, but it has a sharp lip on the clip where it grabs the lip of your pocket, so I'm not worried about it. But i don't own any other knives with a TI clip. So I don't have that much experience with them.

I have a titanium deep carry clip on my Benchmade Kulgera. When I first installed it, it was a little looser than I would have liked. So I simply bent it a little and reinstalled it. I have never had an issue with the knife staying in my work dress pants and khakis.

I have done this both ways...bent to tighten and bent to loosen. Easy enough to do. Put it in a vise to bend it, then reinstall.
