For the mods if its the wrong forum for this thread please move it to a proper one. I wasn't sure where exactly to post my question. I hope it is o.k to post this question in the first place.

My GF (she is Chinese) has an import company. She imports electronics into the US for whole sellers. I noticed she has connection with companies that make Titanium gear as well. She has an agent in china that makes sure of the quality of the product is as promised.

I took her backpacking for the first time about a month ago, With a group or people. Seeing some of the gear me and other people used. She mentioned she can get it made to order and showed me some suppliers and what they sell.
I were thinking of importing titanium gear that is made in china to sell over here. If you guys could have anything made out of titanium what would it be??
For cups what size would you prefer? I'm going to check prices to see if I can import and sell at a price where more people can afford it.
There is more gear available like light weight tarps which can be made to order as well.
Just need ideas of what people find useful or might want to have for the outdoors.

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

Look at the Olicamp anodized Space Saver Mug that fits snugly over the bottom of a 32 oz Nalgene bottle and a 40 oz Klean Kanteen bottle
Holds 24 oz to the brim or 20 oz to the top graduation. (taller than the SS GSI mugs)
It weighs 3 oz which make titanium redundant
Four-Stove sells an after market lid in titanium

I think titanium makes awful cooking pans, that's why I don't use it.

Cups I can skate with but it would need to be big. The returns on a small mug don't really interest me. A big water boiler / mug with lid at 1L could find a niche with me. Something like a cross between a Lifeventure Travel Mug and a Zebra billy.

Have you considered scales for your Outrider? A lot of folks seem to go for the Alox SAKs for no apparent reason other than cosmetics. I have no interest in doing it but I believe I could sell a lot of those in the UK.

Similarly, if it were my money I be looking to find a Kalamazoo monkey to bang out a bunch of simple flat ground blades [S90V / Elmax mebe, something catchy anyway] and mount to titanium handles. A modern street legal friction folder with performance well beyond what a Svord Peasant can do is a rare thing here. And when they do turn up the price is completely disproportionate to the worth 'cos someone had to home-bake it, so people don't tend to buy them. With a factory behind you...

Cat hole trowel like the one from Mont-Bell, spork, long handled spork, spacesaver cup with lid like neeman said, tent stakes, 5 cup Pot with bail under 4 oz or one without a heavy steel bail handle, pot lifter, optional windscreen/pot stand combo that could nest in the pot and work with alcohol or solid fuel stoves (Ti would even work with wood in a pinch). SilNylon poncho tarp at a decent price would be nice as well, wish I was able to get one of the ones GoLite made before they went bankrupt.

Thank you guys. That would point me in a good direction to start looking. I want to get some more information and then pass it on to see what it would take to make it.
She is looking at one company that can make SliNylon tarp. I have an idea what I want it to do. So its to make sure they can make it and to keep it affordable as well.

i'll buy a titanium version of the fourdogstove/mors kochanski bush pot: http://fourdog.com/1-1-liter-bush-pot-hard-anodized/?page_context=category&faceted_search=0.

I completely agree. I don't use aluminum cookware because they don't radiate heat evenly [for me].

I use a stainless steel Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set 24oz in Stainless Steel and my 4" cast iron skillet.

I also like the GSI Outdoors Halulite Tea Kettle for bulk-boiling water or melting snow.

What I would really love is a 3l pot with a screw top lid that has a silocone seal so is waterproof and can hold liquids, let me cook something at home, stick it in the fridge then carry on a camping trip and heat up for everyone to enjoy without needing to both take a pot and a second container to hold it till its time to heat up. OR trying to carry all the ingredients to make on the spot. Also as an option for extra water carry would also find it possibly useful.

Guess its a great idea until a company makes one... some idiot boils water in it with the lid screwed on... and the lawsuits fly faster then the exploding pot.

The Kelty "wing" tarps have always interested me but they are expensive for what they are and don't get good reviews on durability due to delamination of the coating. A similar geometric design might sell well if it were better material and less expensive.

I've really enjoyed using the toaks 750ml pots with the bail handles. Works great for quickly boiling water for coffee. I usually pour 1 3/4 of it into a 32 oz wide mouth hydro flask vacuum bottle. This keeps it hot and the remaining water can be used for oatmeal, pancakes, or something for breakfast. Works great for two people.

You know something I've always wanted, is a titanium version of this. This is a steel one from my cooking days in France, meant for crepes, but works amazing as a light camp skillet. It's just not that light.

Well she got a few emails with the products they manufacture as of now. Her advice was to first check what they have before asking them to make something to my spec's.
They have lots of different pots. Frying pans, Water bottles, Utensils, Tent pegs and all the other common things. There are 6 different titanium alloys out there some are better then others for different uses. Funny thing is that pure titanium is not as good for most things, Mostly for water bottle.

B34NS There are many smaller titanium pans that come in a kit of pan and pot. Would that work for you?
Water bottles most are in the 700ml range I asked them if they can make it in the 1L size or larger. Something like the Klean kantin but in titanium.
I never thought about the Alox for the SAK. I would see what can be done.
Phoynix I wouldn't go into a pot with screw on top for the same reason you just mentioned.
Codger the funny thing is that most of the SliNylon is made in china. As always they got the cheap ones and the good ones. Her agent said he would check a company that makes products for US sellers and compare them. I were also told to work only with the larger companies as they have a much better Quality control and they don't cheat like the fly by night ones do.
Neeman I know what you are saying about the price and what you get for it. I got both and I get to like the titanium the more I use it as its easier to clean and unless you use cast iron pots it cooks same as Aluminum and it don't scratch as much and last way longer.

Here ya go. Lid flips over for heating efficiency. Reviews are mixed but overall its a good unit, just pricey.

Cooke Custom Sewing makes awesome SylNylon tarps. High quality. I'm not sure what you mean by affordable?
