Titanium razor blade?

Recently I got a request to make a straight razor out of titanium... but the thing is, as far as I know, titanium sucks as a blade of any sort.

Anyone know what material would be better for this application? I'm thinking stainless steel, but I've never made a razor of any kind before so I have no idea

you might want to ask mecha about this. also some other folks around here make titanium blades, though mostly not razors, but rather carbidized.

I think I'd make one out of A2. They look straight forward to grind. Just google it. DM

Yeah.......You could carbidize the edge, but how would it hone? Razors are a lot different than knives, even though they don't look like it.
