Hey guys, not sure if its just me or what. I dont know if I am allergic to the metal ot what but EVERY time I use the Schick Titanium blades my face breaks out. I rinse the blades all the time in between strokes, apply virtually no pressure, and blades are NOT dull...so why is it I break out? When I use non-titanium blades its a complete 180...has anyone else had these issues?

Allergies to Titanium are virtually unheard of which is a major reason why Ti is a preferred material for making medical implants.

I suspect that Shick is putting something else into or onto those blades which you are having a reaction to.

Thats what I thought as well-about the titanium. Then again stranger things have happened, its probably the glide strip.

Definitely not the blades! Blame that big honking blue strip at the front with "Aloe, Vitamins E & B-5"… and bonding agents, polymer friction reducing agents, and who knows what else.

Give me hot water, soap, and a sharp blade any day…

It maybe be the lubricating strip, or it could be your skin not liking the blades for some reason. I fought breakouts after shaving for 20+ years. I could use a particular manufacturs blade for weeks with no problems and then i'd break out. Sometimes Id break out the first time i used a type of blade. A friend suggested trying out a double edged razor and that has fixed my problem. I think it has something to do with the number of blades in modern cartridge razors and how far apart the blades are and the angle they are set at.

Anyways, I went to a double edge setup and have absolutely no problems. Plus i get a closer shave that i ever did.
