Titanium Salsa Question...

This is probably something simple that is just eluding me. However, I've got to know the answer. Two nights ago, I decided to lubricate my month old Ti Salsa. (I like that wire pocket clip. Doesn't tear up the top of the pockets of my Blackie Collins "Toters".) I also like the "Cobra Hood". It makes the knife suitable for left OR right one-handed opening. The question :) ~I reached down without looking and grabbed the large 4 slot "thing" that's on each side and felt a "click". The "thing" had became loose. All it took to fix was a quarter turn of the screwdriver. However, now I wonder what the functon of the "thing" is meant to be! Just a spacer? Or maybe it's something to grab so sliding the Ti Salsa from it's place on the lip of my pocket will be easy? It certainly does THAT admirably. Anybody know for sure what the "thing is"? Pretty simple question from a *supposed knife collector. :)

Hi Rifle.

Thanx for the kind words on the design

The 4 slot "thing" I believe is the barrel bold that holds the clip in. There is a male and female part that should be flush with the scale of the knife. They screw and unscrew using a coin. Make sure that they are screwed all of the way together or you could loosen or possible even lose the clip of parts of the barrel bolt.
