If you've read my review on the Salsa then you know how much I like this knife so I'm just going to add my opinions about the handle slabs, lock, and steel upgrade. The first thing that I noticed about the Ti Salsa is the added heft over the Aluminum version. I gave my Aluminum Salsa away as a gift so I couldn't do a side by side analysis but it seems much heavier, which is something that I like alot. The blade which is ATS-34 performed very well last night as I cut down numerous boxes while helping to move my girlfriend into her new apartment. I must have cut down 20+ boxes and the knife still shaves like crazy (something that the AUS-8 couldn't do if it tried). The lock on this model is an integral compression lock (the first model with this new lock) and it is very secure. There is absolutely no blade play in any direction and it locks up not with the "click" of a liner lock....but the "bank vault" of other ti integrals such as the Umfaan, Seb, etc. Overall, I like the knife and I feel that it is a nice big brother to the Salsa. The knife looks plain in comparison to the nifty looking pepper but the strength and heft of titanium is well worth it.
Thanks,
Matt
