Titanium scales for the Para2

I just received my new Para2 titanium scales from John Grimsmo yesterday and installed them last night onto my all-black Para2. I opted for the stonewash finish with a bronze anodizing. They don't give as good a grip as the textured handles, but I really liked the looks of the plain anodized version. Plus, they slide in and out of the pocket a bit easier...

All I can say is "Wow". These things are amazing - the attention to detail by John is pretty incredible. No issues reassembling the knife at all. Everything fit like a glove.

In addition, John has hollowed out the scales behind the liners - making the final weight only 1gram heavier than a standard G10 scale. They feel light and nimble in hand.

Very very nice, would be awesome if you could somehow get the liners and lock blacked out as well. The black hardware and clip look awesome against the stonewashed Ti.

I just ordered his last set of honeycomb scales and am having him do a deep bronze with etched flats. Hope it's not a pocket shredder.

Wow! those look fantastic! Great choice to use the DLC blade, great contrast, congrats!

the more i look at this, the more i want to spend money. thank god all the paras are sold out

Awesome, looks great! I received the same scales recently, one in plain and one in honeycomb. I went with black PM2 guts on the honeycomb and satin for the smooth set. I got all the parts with a plain finish then applied an Oxi Clean finish, details are in http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1019026-Darken-titanium-with-Oxi-Clean.

Here are my results:

These scales are simply outstanding. John did a fantastic job on the machining. He is also a very nice guy, we have been chatting back and forth for weeks and I have learned an awful lot from him through his emails and his "Knife Making Tuesdays" videos. The guy is truly an artist.

The clips on these knives are of course from the famous STR, very much an established artist and true gentlemen.

These are sweet, does he still do the honeycomb style?

He is sold out of them now. He may make some more in the future but is not sure.

Maybe if lots of forum users bug him he will make some more ;)
