just bought a Buck/Mayo TNT from Joel (thanks)... can i leave it in my pocket with coins, lighter, etc and not worry about it scratching?

also, i've never seen a framelock before; is it unique to tom mayo and is it more reliable than a liner lock?

also, when i took the clip off there is some green coloring around the screw holes.....any way to get that off

finally, does buck offer a lifetime sharp service like benchmade?

thanks in advance......Bill

Ti is generally softer than stainless steel, so you WILL scratch it eventually.

Many manufacturers and custom makers make framelocks. Check out the Chris Reeve Sebenza and Strider SnG/SMF for the ultimate in semi-production framelocks (IMHO). If you think about it, having the whole thickness of the frame move in behind the blade tang is going to be stronger than having the blade secured by the normally thinner liner.

Green coloring? It may just be some left over thread locker. Acetone should take care of it.

I beleve that Buck will sharpen the knife for the cost of return shipping ($5). It should be in the paperwork included with the knife. I had a Buck Strider Solution, the edge was all but destroyed by the former owner (flat spots, edge ground at multiple angles), it was too much for me to fix. For $5.00, Buck fixed the edge and sent the knife back via Second Day Air. The shipping alone cost Buck more than $5.00, so I know they stand by their products.
