What will Buck's Spa do for handle scratches (many more than I was able to show)? Any other options, other than doing nothing? Thanks

I brush finish these on a belt sander with a 60 grit belt. I lay the knife on the belt before I turn on the sander. I shut the rig off before I remove the knife. Repeat on side 2. A coarse brush does not show scratches as much as a light brush.

I like hand working restoration but that can be brutal with titanium. Nevertheless, I use inexpensive tools like abrasive surfaced stiff sponge blocks:

For polishing to a finer surface you can use polishing tape, available where edgepro sharpeners are available or by keyword search. You can cut the sheet-of-paper-size polishing tape to fit your sponge blocks, wrap them, and have at it. Or lay out the sheet and run your target along it, around it or in any desired direction.

Has anyone had their 560 resurfaced by the Buck Factory Spa? I wonder if they do that given their recent reluctance to work with ti. The OP might inquire in advance of any mailing of the knife.

A scotchbrite belt on grinder does a great job as well.

I used the clean off( wire brush) wheel on my bench grinder on a Sebenza followed up with sos pad, turned out great. Best thing about the wirebrush is that it doesn't remove material just satin finishes it very nice.

A few years back I sent a black 560 to Buck for a blade replacement and asked that what was left of the black coating be removed. They bead blasted it which gave it a nice satin finish with a light texture that I really like.

I suppose this is one way to remove the scratches...

Well... I sent it in with my $10-$12 check for the blade replacement and that was it. I explained in my letter what I wanted done and asked for a quote so I could send additional money and never heard back. I was pleasantly surprised when I got it back and there was no invoice for the additional work.

These folks go above and beyond every chance they get!
