Barry,

I've tried to reply to you twice but the e-mail won't go through. Please send me another note.

Barry,

At 11:30 your second note I replied to was returned. My ISP has been really bad lately so I think the problem is at my end. The message I get is "Access denied".

If you find a piece you like send me the item no and I send it to you.

Yes I accept PayPal.

I have received requests to define the different types of titanium.

CP-1
Commercially Pure. CP is soft. Some people say it is gummy. It does not make a good liner lock but is fine for lock backs and friction folders. When anodized it does not have as many colors as 6AL4V or 6242.

6AL4V
Also known as 6-4. It is a high strength alloy used when strength and lightweight is needed. It has good spring characteristics.

6242
Also known as 6-2-4-2. It is in the 6AL4V family and is used when strength and lightweight is needed in a high temperature area. It is stiffer than 6AL4V

I am not a metallurgist and I don't play one at work. However, I have asked structural engineers, machinists, and knifemakers about titanium. Timet has a good website is you want more data: http://www.timet.com
