While checking out some of the background info on Rosarms knives through their website, I noticed that titanium is noted as an ingredient in the steel used for the blades. I don't know of any other cutlery steel that list Ti as an ingredient, apart from the boker and mission stuff and other mostly Ti blades out there.

I guess it's notable to me because I love titanium. But I wonder if it aids in the seeming flexibility of the edge and chipping reduction. I also noticed that the two Rosarms knives we use in the kitchen, (amigo, companion 1) will not rust, no matter what they just won't. Another benefit of Ti.

From Rosarms USA website:

The chemical components of 110x18M stainless steel

C 1.1-1.2%
Mn 0.5-0.1%
Ch 16.5-18.0%
Mo >3%
Ti 0.2%
Ni 0.5%
Cu 0.3%

I checked out their russian web-site, could not find anything about steel components.
I heard mixed reviews about their knives. Some were satisfied, some claimed receiving bad product(poor heat treating). If you like the knives and they perform to your standarts or above - what else do need?

Hi everybody!

TI - is a standard element for a steel chart in Russia. There is no mistake.

Knife will not rust! I just did a special test which I'm gonna upload tonight.

Of course in Russia we have 100 times more customers then in USA. And we do have good reviews from happy customers and bad from unhappy customers. But I know factory is taking care of these issues.

Also, we just found out, there are some not original knives with our logo on it! Some "home made" knives are on market and quality for these knives is bad! President of ROSarms Russia is working on this problem right now.

All knives in USA (sold by ROSarms USA or our dealers) are original and have been checked by QC department in Russia. We can guaranty that! If you have any issues - please let us know!

the faked knives is a problem with all producers in russia,, not just russian firms.. ther eis many fake cold steel knives in rusisa last i saw (how hard is it to fake a spike or recon tontan :P,,,
) most of there are chinese made.. and actualy of ok quality,, but are realy sold as genuine,,,, ive seen even fake glock combat knives, they were better than the original which is.. rather shoddy,, these were definatly russian made though not chinese..

Well, on all knives I have (but I bought all them here in US, and traditionally Russian sent best deal abroad) I see steel performing extremely well. As I sad it is in the same aerospace ball bearings class as BG42 and Russian also use some Russian processing on it. Traditionally they give to the army and space also best deals...

Titanium in the steel is just part of Russian school of metallurgy, I guess.

Thanks, Vassili.
