Title Change: I bought a PM2!

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I have purchased a PM2 to try.

I'm considering buying a PM2. I'd love to hear from people who have them and have used them for a while what their thoughts were. I had one for a short while and it was super stiff! I did however like the size/weight.

Buy it. Use it. Break it in until it fits like an old pair of shoes and you will rarely carry anything else in the way of an EDC folder (Sunday go-to-meetin' days notwithstanding) ... that about sums it up.
They come up pretty regularly on the for sale threads, grab one there and if you don't keep it (not likely, just sayin), you can flip it for pretty much what it cost you ... hell, sell it to me - I'll cover you. I'm that sure.

Buy one, give it time and it will break in. The only knife my PM2 has to compete with for pocket time is my Military.

The Military wins for at work, my PM2 for any other time.

When new they vary as to how stiff they are. The 3 new ones that I've handled were all fairly loose and the blades would swing freely. People say that they will loosen up with use, also you can make slight adjustments to the pivots yourself.

It's the best and most rounded all around knife you can buy at the moment from ANY company (My own personal opinion obviously). It would be the last to go if I had to sell off my whole collection...the 204P version more specifically, though I do still love my S30V DigiCam version. There are ways of adjusting them so that they're less stiff, and having the satin finish will also be less stiff than iterations with the DLC coating. Both of mine are very smooth and swing closed very easily under the force of gravity when the lock is depressed.

Buy it. Give it a little squirt of Breakfree CLP (or Rem Oil) and work it a bit. It is hard to beat.

Also check out the Gayle Bradley if you want a little bigger/tougher knife, my current EDC.

Out of 6 Para 2s I have handled. I would say 3 were very smooth and 3 were not quite there. Definitely some variation, but the knife is great enough to give it another chance.

It's my favorite knife. Some do require a little break in time to be super smooth. I've got a few of them and they're all great. Be careful though you might try to get all of the variations like I'm trying to do once you get your first they are that good.

I have small and large regular Sebenzas that I never carry anymore, because I can't seem to put down my 204P Para 2. I have other Spydercos that I like a lot, but for me nothing beats the Para 2.

Don't think, you don't need to justify buying knife to yourself, Paramilitary will do it for you once you hold it in your hand! Trust me, you won't be disappointed. ;)

There goes clanton again, just showing off! :)

If I wanted to show off I'd have to get them out and take a new pic of the 5 sprint PM2's and the SE PM1 I've added since I took that one.;) I only need 4 more to complete my goal.

I've owned a lot of PM2's, although most of them are long sold off. One of my favorite Spyderco folders of all times...
The advice given earlier...to just loosen the pivot screw perhaps 1/8th of a turn will make that tight folder behave just fine. I've had to do that several times...absolutely no problem and completely reversible if desired.

Wow! Whats that make, 30?

I've found that my PM2 really responds to 10w Nano-oil. The blade flys out and will drop closed with the lock depressed.

Clanton, do you have collections like these for other models/brands or is it only for the PM2? I have backups and several variations of the same models that I really like but nothing like this. If I did though, it would be the PM2 also! I've owned them all many in multiples but I'm now down to a black blade s30v and my favorite, the 204P. I'll pick up a M390 again and future ones no doubt. Nice collection BTW... Wonder who has more, you or Rev.
