I sold off my last Sebenza but I do believe I am about to be back in the fold.

Trying to decide between the small 21 Insingo and the large. :)

Getting the same knife you already had? Change it up! Maybe go for micarta Insingo this time, or CF Insingo if you like that kind of thing. Hope you score a new one again soon!

I like the plain TI best. Thought about getting a 25 though.

Plain Jane affords options to leave it as is or to do whatever. I personally don't care for the weaker CF presentation scale function as backing for the pivot/bushing or the inlays using sticky tape.

My favorite, among all my folders, large or small, given the fact that I don't even like small knives and the one I always carry - is a William Henry - very thin/compact/almost weightless but contained a 3.25" long laminated ZDP-189 blade. I do have two other small, one "Paul" knife with unique pivot lock, vintage '83 and the other Spyderco Pro Venator, vintage '94, both are not much fun and are dust collector.

Out of RHK folders, sharing their common weak 58-59 RC, the proven simplicity design lead me to select the large plain Jane Insingo as my keeper. Given that has soft steel, it is always sharp since I don't use it to cut anything, it simply serves, among other folders, as my play toy - to enjoy flip/flick in my many idle moments. :)

I don't find an issue with the steel being run at 58-59, It wears a tiny bit faster than ZT's elmax, but I haven't really noticed too much of a difference otherwise. So I would not say "common weak" different makers have their preferences. I have only been into CRK's for a slight time but that is in no way a draw back.

We'll be happy to have you be officially back in the club. I am curious why you sold your Sebenzas in the first place, what you carried instead and why you are coming back?

I've grown quite fond of the Insingo blade shape, but as others have mentioned, there is no wrong answer.

I do like that adding the micarta or carbon inserts does seem to help with grip some. Feels a little fuller in my hand.

I sold the small 21 to try a Large 21 Insingo. I then sold the L21 Insingo because carrying a 400 dollar pocket knife started to freak me out a bit. I've mainly been carrying Benchmade knives.

I do love the Insingo blade shape. Great blade shape!

I suppose I was a little freaked out when I first started carrying a $400 knife. I too had Benchmades before a Sebenza. Now I might freak out if I had something other than a $400 Sebenza in my pocket. When I need it its there and it preforms every time. Threat of loosing it is always there but so far so good for me on that front. Knock on wood....

Yea, I misplaced the knife. I thought I had put it on my nightstand and when I went to get it it wasn't there. I found it within 15 minutes and realized I had put it somewhere else but man that scared the hell out of me. lol

I just love how clean the Sebenza lines are.

Boy do I know how you felt. I went to do some work on my camper and when I got home....no Sebenza in pocket. Turned around and drove back and searched the road and woods near where I was. It ended up in the cushions of the chair. Sinking feeling to (almost) lose a Damascus Sebbie.

Well guys (and gals?) I'm officially back in. I just placed an order for a Large 21 Insingo. :)
