They certainly give you all the info about it. It would work fine for a blade thought not as corrosion resistant as D2 as it only has 8% Cr.
 
The chemistry is closer to A2 than D2. It has ~2.5% more Cr and slightly higher Mo, but is similar otherwise.

Recently i asked about a slab of A2 from Assab (equivalent to XW10, thank you zknives) and they discontinued this supply and replaced it with DF53.
I wasn't sure how close it is to XW10 but the word on the street is that it's a D2 on roids. Now how close is it compared to a D3?
Has anyone made a blade out of it?

The supplier suggested a final RC hardness of 58-60 for toughness which i think compensate the edge retention. Sounds like a chopper material to me already.
