I'll be doing my review of these scales in this thread over the next week or so so stay tuned....

For now, first impressions are....WOW!

Dale, very nice job my man, these scales are fantastic. Fill the hand very nicely, give the knife much more heft, look fantastic....Just great.

The fit is very good. As has been said time and time again, the tang on each knife varies a bit thus the stock handles are machined to each blade by Rowen so these aftermarket scales aren't a dead on, perfect fit but damn close and the imperfections can only be felt not seen. Very nice job.

The quality of the machining is spot on, they have a very nice texture that's prefectly uniform over the surface of the scale. No rough spots or smooth spots, very well done. The radius of the corners is also perfect, very comfortable in the hand.

So far I'm very impressed. I'll be taking this thing out and putting it to some extended use and mild abuse and report back but I don't see myself disliking these.:D

I like those a lot. Of course, I've always been a big fan of "customizing" my stuff, and that seems like a logical place to start!!

After seeing these positive reviews, and also hearing a few complaints about stock handles being too small, do you think ESEE might implement any changes to their own handles? Not to take away from TKC, but if people seem to like this type of grip better, why not make it a stock option? I'd think it could cut down costs on both ESEE, TKC and even the consumer if these were more of a standard rather than aftermarket customization.

I might have kept my ESEE 4 if these handles had been available. Not bashing anything just saying. In some ways I wish I hadn't sold it so I could try these :)

Got my set today...simply Wow! Great job.

Stock handles will stay the same. Overall we only have a relatively few amount of people that say the handles are too short. I have big hands and while Dale's custom handles feel really good, I can handle the 4 just as easy with the short handle as I can the long handle. I think the real beauty in Dale's handles is the 3D contour.

Would you say the durability, consistancy and color of the G10 are on par with the ESEE orange scales? If so I'll probably pick a set up for the RC3-this may be a real game changer...

Thanks for your reply Jeff. I personally love the stock handles and think they fit great, but was just curious if any changes were in the works. I also really appreciate how each handle set is matched perfectly to the blade, rather than just mass produced. Makes for much better f/f and is definitely noticeable. Never have to worry about hotspots or rough edges

I am one of those people with big hands who felt the stock handle was alittle short, so these are perfect for me.

Yay im sorry but i love the stock scales. Wouldent trade em for anything. I havent got any of these new ones but i must say when i first heard about them i was happy cause i thought they would be just like the stock esee scales and i wanted a pair in orange g-10 so bad but oh well :( Im still tryin to get my hands on some stock g-10 but they are kinda hard to get w/o buyin a new knife.
