I got my first TL-29 sometime in early June this year, and I instantly fell in love with it. I find it very comfortable, sturdy, and useful! It feels great in my hand, and there's something about it that I love - like it's seen some hard times and can take on whatever I throw at it without breaking a sweat. I have 2 Camillus versions, the first I'm in the process of modifying (single blade, cocobolo scales), and the second I've slipped into my pocket to carry. When I carry a more expensive knife, like a GEC, I always feel a little panicky about scratching it up with the contents of my pocket. That being said, I've never had and I don't plan to ever have any safe queens. I think it has to do with the fact that the GEC in question is of the Smooth Autumn Bone variety, which makes it easy to slip out of my pocket and feels like I'm carrying a piece of glass. One thing I love about my TL-29 is that the plastic handles look better the more they get dinged up, and they don't make a clacking sound if they make contact with my craftsman 4-in-1 pocket screwdriver (thanks for leading me onto this, Jackknife!). The knife feels so solid and I don't feel guilty when I'm carrying it, not to mention I got the carbon blades razor sharp in under 20 minutes (one of the biggest reasons I love traditionals), and it has history behind it!
Anyway, rant aside; lets see some TL-29s that are in your collections! I'm especially interested in seeing some nice patinas!
Thanks everyone!
