Tl-29

At the gun show today I picked up a TL-29 marked: "Schrade" under that "Cut. CO." and under that "Walden, N.Y". Half stop on the blade and screw driver, great walk and talk, apparent steel liners, and "TL-29" stamped into the wooden left hand wooden scale, plus "JBT" which may be someone's initials. Blade has been used but not abused and sharpened up nicely. I am assuming it is a WWII issue? John

I think the wooden scale ones were WWII. I am sure a real expert will be by shortly. There is a lot of info on the TL-29 (tool lineman) on the web.

Here is some reading on the pattern from some time back. Frank Trzaska would be the man to tell you more about the WWII contract knives.
