What a totally unique folder.

$1735 is a little out of my price range though.

Somebody buy one!

Im still loling at the price. Unique.... sure it is. Will it sell? Thats a whole different ball game

It is certainly a unique model that is very expensive. I would compare it to a concept car that showcases all of the latest and greatest technology in the automotive industry. It will be very interesting to see Additive Metal Technology being incorporated into knife making in the future. Lionsteel is very much ahead of the curve with this model and their use of this very new, and very expensive technology. But, kudos to them for taking that plunge and utilizing the technology in a knife application. I only hope to handle the TM1 TiDust someday to see what I'm missing out on.

It weighs almost as much as a Ti Military. The blade steel is quite pedestrian and rustable. Are they going to offer a better blade steel, and is there any way to reduce the weight? Maybe a thinner blade? The weight savings in the handle doesn't seem to translate into a lighter knife.

I don't think the point of this knife was to create the lightest weight possible, rather to showcase the possibilities and technical prowess of Additive Metal Manufacturing. The possibilities for new designs from a technical and stylistic standpoint are greatly expanded. It will be really cool when guys have these types of machines in their garages someday, just as many do now with CNC machines.

I'm not talking lightest possible knife. I have many EDC type knives in the 2-3 oz. range. I wish the TiDust was in the 3-4oz. range.

I am surprised they decided to make a run of 100 of them. For $1735 I would expect a run of 5 tops.

Absolutely beautiful knife .... but way out of my price range for practical reasons. I just purchased a Lil' LionSpy to complement my SR2. Could purchase a lot of fine LionSteel knives for the price of one Ti Dust! That said, I am sure that the Ti Dust will make a wonderful addition for the discriminating collector. Well done Gianni and the LionSteel family.

Agreed. The blade is just too heavy for such a light handle. A thinner blade of M390 and an under $1K price would've made the TiDust much more attractive.

When I first laid eyes on a pic of the TiDust, I was floored. But after much staring and some recovery time, I began to see that the handle was the only really impressive part of the folder. That being said.... What a fabulous handle it is!

I could see myself laying down the cash if it had: 1 - A flipper.... 2 - M390, Vanax or even Elmax steel. I agree the blade is beautifully shaped.

To avoid spoiling the view through the handle, a lock-back was probably best.

TiDust is a lock back knife, for this reason we can not add the flipper.
Sleipner for us is one of the best steel we have ever used.

M390 will be used in our next folder.
