well...my friend who owns a surfboard shop just came back from a one week trek along the north shore of Kauai...completely remote, you have to take everything with you, and the tnt was in and out of the salt water all week in his pocket, he even rinsed it off after cutting up mangoes with ocean water,....test number one. Took mine to the skeet range and blasted it with my 12 gauge...test number two....and finally, after one month in the hands of Jerry Hossum he hasnt been able to break it...the final test!!!!! rust proof, bullet proof and idiot proof!!!

BTW, does the fact that the second hole in the handle is off just a little bother you as much as it does me? I think you'll find if you use a center punch, you can do that a little better.

It's a shame it should have just that one glaring little flaw in such a nice knife...

well...I just got off the phone with Jerry and his lovely wife....and it seems I was wrong...He has had the knife all this time, but he could never figure out how to get it open so we dont have any conclusive results on test number 3............

Tom,

I think that the TNT did[b/] pass test #3,
because either (a)someone

sent a beautiful knife like that to Georgia of all places, and/or (b) someone who sees things out of whack and can't even open the darn thing.

EUREKA!! Hey, once I heated it up and melted the solder that had dripped down inside, then put it in Ferric Chloride to dissolve the accumulated rust, it opened pretty easily. Pretty cool knife Tom!

BTW, I used a file (diamond of course) and moved that hole over just a little. Then I replaced the pivot pin so it works a little better. I've always found it's a bit smoother if the pivot pin isn't swaged into the blade. I also adjusted the detent, so now when it's closed the blade is actually inside the handle and doesn't flop around quite so badly. Oh, and I also reworked the stop, so the blade opens all the way. Not a bad knife for an early effort though...

nice knife tom. where did you get the fancy mark for blade, i want one. with my symbol though.

holey knife batman!!!!!! magnum...I get my logos made by marking methods inc...as do most of us...the design was drawn up by a good friend....then sent to mm for transfer... they can make you a stencil from any drawing.....the holes are there to make the knife lighter....so i can lite my cigars with it.

Hey, why don't you make the holes the right size for a cigar, and line 'em up so the blade cuts completely across the hole? That way people can use the knife to cut their cigars. Also, build in a slot which will hold a disposable Bic lighter, and you're set! This from a guy who doesn't smoke...

A Great Idea there E_utopia. I can see it now, the TNT Panatela, the TNT Corona, the TNT El Grande, etc. The possibilities are endless. We could even have a TNT Swisher Sweet for the Southern California crowd. Actually, those would probably sell well here in Atlanta.
