Hello fellow BladeForums members,
I recently acquired one of the Kershawguy limited edition Kershaw Junkyard Dog II's with the black DLC blade. I currently have it sent off to a custom maker/modifier from here on the forums, ready to customize it. I already plan to have carbon fiber scales made for it, but I am trying to decide if I should have it acid washed. On aesthetics, I'm all for it, but in my pondering, I came across a question to determine my choice. Will having the clip and liners, most importantly, the lockbar liner, acid washed affect the lockup of the knife? In theory, if the acid is corroding the top layer of the metal, it would eat away part of the lockbar face and cause it to lock up later. Has anyone who's done this noticed any such effect?
Thank you!
Thomas
