If I purchase a knife from any source that does not contribute to Blade Forums, I won't review the knife on this Forum. Fair enough?

I thought so.
 
A review of the knife is fine. Just leave out where you bought it.
 
Perhaps someone else can provide a review. I won't waste the board's time. You're on your own.

Sounds fair to me. This particular forum is supposed to be about the knives and not where you get them from, no matter whether the vendor is a paying contributor or not. We have to figure out how to buy them on our own.

Way too much "gotta get the latest thing" and not enough just talking about knives here recently to suit me anyway.
 
John Have to agree with you, certain GEC pattern knife discussions and the GEC thread often seem to be permeated with where from/when?? Despite the best schemes of Mice and Men......;)

So this mini-rant is about a little infraction you received? Rules are rules, if you break them, you get a little slap. You got 1pt and it expires in a week. Hardly anything to stir the pot over.

I don't really understand this either. It feels a little passive aggressive, and it is, itself, not a discussion of knives. Is this something about which we should be having a discussion, and perhaps in the Lounge or W&C?
 
I'm going to close this, since the point has been made and remade.

Read and follow the guidelines and all will be well.
Every member agreed to follow the guidelines when they signed up. Not being aware of them will not be acceptable as an excuse for not following them.

If you've got questions, feel free to ask. PM, VM or email. Most any mod will be happy to answer. Just keep it out of the knife discussion threads.
