Hi all,

Considering getting a Bradford Guardian 3.5 (or maybe 3.2).

For all you Bradford users out there, how do you like your Bradfords? Do you also take them camping/hiking as a companion knife?
Has anyone sharpened the spine?

Also as inspiration for what type of 3.2/3.5 to get (handle, blade, finish) will you share your pictures 😊

Cheers!

No pics, but I've got a Guardian 5.5 and a 3.5, both in Magnacut. Not pieces of art, but working tools. Both excellent. I'd buy again definitely.

Hmm I went through the one thread and dug back and copied the link and then created new images from those and updated the one thread now as there were a lot of nice photos in there, photobucket ughhh

Both links now have what images I could find, takes time to copy the old link, then do a screen capture, save it, upload it to my flicker account, open the thread posts back up, delete the broken links, replace those with the new ones...much fun lol

Hey,
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help. I will look at them.

I don’t know why Bradford knives aren’t more popular. I’ve had a chance to own a few.. Good edge geometry, great materials, good fit / finish, fair prices. The 4.5 is about perfect ( as long as you get the Kydex sheath upgrade ).

Both handles are dirty in that image (not that they're any cleaner now). I'll see if I've got the first one I posted of those knives.
They're matching green, though...but the color isn't offered by Bradford

I like mine but the standard sheath I find lacking retention. You could probably wet form it and it would be better. I got the kydex and am happy.

I have a Guardian 3.5 with the kydex sheath all blacked out wharnie M390. Sorry no picture though.

I have the guardian 4, full flat grind, m390 steel. It's super slicey, which is my favorite thing about it. The steel holds a good edge too. The ergonomics have taken a bit to get used to but work well enough, and the handle is very well done. The kydex sheath is really nice, although the wide blade shape likes to catch if you aren't careful putting it back in. I think the g-wood handle speaks for itself.

I like Bradford knives - overall, each blade has arrived with a great edge, evenly ground bevels, the full height primary grind variants taper to a nice thin edge. Well made and finished enough for me, although the non coated versions have visible machine marks on the spines (however, not a complaint on my end).

I think highly of the Guardian 3 & 3.5 sheepsfeet and newer Guardian 3.2....I don't have large hands, so these smaller ones have a nice 4 finger grip. 3.5s are accommodating for larger hands or use with gloves.

I would rather have kydex, but I don't mind the leather for the smaller Guardian blades. It is sometimes a fickle fit for my 3.5 sheepsfoot, however.

And the G-necker spear-point is pretty cool for a small scale-less blade - carried in my pocket, rather than neck carry.
