I'll tip a couple tomorrow for all the service men all over the world living and departed. Remembering our great history back to those late 1700's, when a baby nation whipped hell out of the most powerful nation in the world at the time, and their hired German Mercenaries. Be Proud of Her gents, be Proud.

There has never been one like Her before and most likely never will be again. God knows I love my country.

Yepp, the Hessians. Germans have a long history of mercenary armies. The U.S. was not unprepared, for Washington recruited military academy leaders from Europe (France, Swiss, etc) to train his militia. And of course, the natives of this fine land gave the colonists a crash course in something new to them--Guerrilla warfare.

ok now, who ever said mercenaries are a bad thing? in Switzerland we have a long and proud tradition of being among the best soldiers in the world and serving in the " Free companies". the French foreign legion or the gurkhas are mercenaries. dam, im one. Swiss citizen in the us. Army. a soldier is a soldier. its about belief not whom you belong to. i joined the US. Army because i believe in the US, not because i was born here. Of course, there is a difference between professional and war criminal. but the definition is the same for merc. or regular soldier. if u kill non-combatants or violate the rules of engagement, then ur a criminal. if not, ur a professional soldier.
