Good one. Read that some years ago, Jack London really wrote them true to life, whatever you call his style of being in the moment with a character.

A classic, for sure. If you have an e-reader, and you dig around on Amazon, etc. you can find a lot of old Jack London and others for free.

A couple other great 'free' finds I've come across:

"Hunting with the Bow and Arrow" by Saxton Pope

"Woodcraft and Camping" by George Washington Sears (Nessmuk)

First time I read it, I could FEEL the cold! The short movie narrated by Orson Wells is good also.

With moving pitchers!

I remember watching that (on reel-to-reel film, that really dates me!) while in junior high English class. That really brings back some memories and was my start of loving the works of Jack London.

Read that years ago. I rememer the feeling i had when that poor guy had that oh **** moment.
