To Clean Or Not To Clean?

If I were to post manufactured knives that I originally bought for $100-150 range for sale that I own and carry, and they have small scratches from being used or sharpened, should I polish out the scratches before I post them or just post them as is? What about old custom knives worth hundreds of dollars that a prior owner might have used and that have a few minor scratches?

Personally, I would not buy knives that were polished by the previous owner. I don't mind scratches and whatnot from use, just leave them there.
