In my thread about my Project I when I cut my finger, I asked a question. Cougar responded...

"Go to the forking emergency room, dork! Seriously, not being able to move your finger is a bad sign. They can fix that but they have to start right away while it's fresh."

Just wanted to say thanks. I was at work earlier, and as I was making chicken, I thought of you calling me a Dork. I started laughing out loud, people were like "the hell he laughing at?" Didn't know people over 20 said dork...

by the way - I did to to the hospital. The doctor looked at it, then went off and asked the Surgeon about it. The surgeon told him (having not even looked at my finger) to wait a few days, then call Concord hospital, have them look at it. Felt like a wasted trip, so I stole some bandages and tape to make up for the gas money I spent going there...

So did you get the finger fixed or not?

Sorry I guess I was typing this as you posted second message!

Well, I was trying to get your attention....

Have you recovered full ability to move your finger? If not ... I think you need to get to a competent doctor and sue that surgeon who wouldn't look at it immediately for zillions of dollars.... Either a cut tendon or a cut nerve is serious business and I think it should be dealt with immediately even if it's a holiday (I should probably mention I am not a doctor, just another dork with net access)....

Have you gotten in touch with Walt Welch? We have a couple of other doctor members, but Walt was an ER surgeon before he retired....

I just hate the idea of anybody, especially one of my forum buddies, suffering impairment because he doesn't value himself enough to go to the emergency room or he's too cheap or whatever ... I think sometimes people just need someone to yell at them and call them a dork and tell them to go to the forking doctor right now! Your fingers are useful tools, worth keeping in good functioning order!

depending on what tendon is involved and how bad the cut or rupture is, the 'window of opportunity' is limited to a few days. This is because they shorten and become more difficult to re-attach.

I cut a tendon in my hand and they waited about three weeks before mending it. It healed fine.

They do not always repair asap.

Per Walt when I cut myself and we didn't yet know if there was tendon damage (unlike Tuff's situation where it's more obviously likely), the "window of repair opportunity" is about two weeks.

Obviously, situations vary but it would seem a few days delay won't be too bad, if the local medic who actually saw it says so.

Apparently today was some sort of holiday, because half the hospital staff was offtoday, have to wait until tommorow now....ugh.

If he sends oyu home again without working on your finger so you can move it, go back in with your project 1

Don't threaten him, that would be illegal, just show it to him and say this is what cut my finger wanna see how sharp it is?

Good luck getting taken care of. if all else fails at least you can get rich in a court settlement.
My signature doesn't apply to your finger
