To all those who took my absence as a premature death, it was greatly blown out of all proportions.
I picked up my SH-E during May from Andy and as always, what a pleasure to have lunch with Andy and Greg Namin. Both super cool guys and a good reason to pass via NY if you can.
It is no secret that I have abused .sorry, make that used my SH since I got my first one in 1996 from Jerry. Thanx Andy for keeping me awake at night as I still have the dog tags and cordura sheath that my first SH came in. I then progressed to the INFI SH and that was a religious experience. The kind that you one day drive your grand children nuts with on a bad Alzheimers day.
Since May I have been using the SH-E what can I say. The grip is much better on my wrist when hard use is encountered. The less pronounced beak at the back has eliminated my Busse pinky totally, which is sad as this was a great source of pride
I have found that when fresh, the ability to cut hard wood is about equal between the SH and SH-E but after 1 hour or so of chopping, I note a widening gap in performance. The E just has the edge that would normally be reduced by fatigue.
My wish now .. a Busse Custom (unique of course) with a high quality 45, sold as a limited edition mamma, now your cooking and where is Mr. Prisco to take that order!!! Andy, no Tupperware for me though !!! Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel !!!
