To Grind or Not To Grind

I have an old Endura with a plastic handle dating back to around the late 80's. It has the fully serrated edge. I am thinking about grinding the edge to give me a plain edge. That way, the knife will be more usable to me. Should I?

Is it in good shape? If it is, why not put it up for trade and see if someone will swap you a plain edged variant?

You could send it in to Spyderco if all it needs is sharpening. But I agree on trading it if you no longer want to have a knife with serrations.

Back to Spyderco for a sharpening or trade it off and get a new one with the full flat grind.

Pretty much what most people are saying try to trade it or sharpen it would be your best bet. I think your taking too much of the blade away to change it to plain blade and it just look weird with that much missing when you do that.

I have an old stainless aus6 delica, that was changed from a serrated to a straight edge, The marine who gave it to me did it himself, and it took me awhile to get the edge dialed back in... Its still a functional blade, but noticeably different. The edge is pretty far up the blade now... If I was you, I'd just get a straight edge and leave that one as is. What you are gaining is probably not worth the time IMO. BUT heck, if you want to get to grinding go ahead! LOL Mods are always fun.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll post a few pictures of its current condition. It doesn't lock properly anymore. My initial attempt at sharpening was bad ( used a rotary tool many years ago.)

I was only going to remove the serrations so I would end up with a chisel edge, sort of. I shouldn't lose too much of the blade.
