to Jerry Busse, my bad experience.

On around 12/18/04 I ordered a busse steel heart.
I never got an order confirmation.
I sent several emails and left phone messages for status of my order to the company, and to Jerry Busse's email per his instructions from a thread I started/he answered on this forum.
I told them in my emails my address changed.
Still never got a response other than email "someone will contact you" from Mr Busse's email or the Busse knives contact email off the site.
Finally in Feb I sent The Busse site an email to cancel, as I could get no reply. No reply on that either.
On 5/4 I did get billed for it.
On 5/18 I received it. After it went to the old address.
Wrong color finish (got tan, ordered black), about 5 gouged lines in the steel that shows through the wrong color paint.

I called this am but, as before, I could only reach a machine.
Busse Knives has the best repuation in the industry but for spending over $350.00 I am very disapointed in the lack of service and not exactly what I ordered (this finish is ugly) and the marks in the steel.

So, Jerry are you willing to do anything to make this better for me?

Jim,

I ran your email address from your profile through my search mode and don't show any emails coming in from you to me. It sounds like it may have gotten caught in our spam filter since you received an automated response.

I apologize for the problems. Please feel free to return your knife and I will be more than happy to refund your money or send you the correct blade color/handle combination.

You are the first person that I'm aware of that has had a negative experience with our new order system and production protocol. Of course, there is a lot going on, so it is inevitable that mistakes will happen. Please feel free to call me and or email me once again at jerry@bussecombat.com and I will see to it personally that you are taken care of. Please request a "read receipt" on your email to verify that I have received it.

I hate to hear stories like this. I really hate it. Knives are such a passion with our customers, as they are with us, and anytime we drop the ball and lessen the experience for our customer, we are the lesser for it. I apologize for your inconvenience. You never should have had to deal with this much hassle. We'll make it right, we have never left a customer unsatisfied. Never have. . . Never will.

Jerry I know you have the best product out there. So, I will return the knife, per Garths instructions/offer, to get another with black blade instead, as ordered.
By the way I have also emailed under my old email address, which I can still receive email from, jim1000@charter.net.

This is a very insightful comment that I feel many knife makers don't appreciate... one of the reasons that I've settled on Busse knives as my choice to stay with.

I've seen a custom maker (name doesn't matter), in frustration with a customer who was concerned about something, comment that "it's just a knife". I think if most of us wanted "just a knife", we wouldn't be spending the money that we do, or participating in an on-line knife community. It's not about what's practical, or rational... it's about what we're interested in.

This is why I never doubt my choice of Busse Combat as my all time favorite! I have never had such a passion for, or spent as much time and money, and never trusted another maker with my livelihood like I have here. I'm home, and I'm home to stay. :D

Holy Pork!! That's a good price. Double stuffed are my favorite cookie....how can you beat a fat oreo :)

Kind of funny. Marks on a piece of INFI would be the least of worries if I had one. True it was expensive but I personally would be greatful for a banged up MS or anything really. Already broken in when you plan to use it anyway.

Either I have been drinking far too much(if that is possible) or the light bulb is going to die. Sounds like their is a bug flying around inside. Keeps going dim, and bright...unless that is my vision.

When they say close the bar they mean stay till the bartenders leave and lock you in!

with the fudge dipped double stuffed oreo's :eek:

last time I bought them I wound up eating the whole bag in one night....
