Well, frankly I'm quite angry about a friend of mine (you know who you are) who mercilessly dragged me into throwing a busse mistress repeatedly on some logs placed as targets last fall. I still havent fully recovered from the fun I had. Incidentally, the same day as I receive some inheritence I get a mail from him, where he basically says: "this one is cool", with the boss jack spread out on my widescreen.

Now, two hours later I find myself just about to click the last step to order, then realize "what the heck am I doing". I just calculated how much money this is going to cost me in my currency (norwegian), with postage and the &%"%#¤& customs office. I guess this very quickly will cost me approximately 500 bucks (and thats without a sheath and all). Really a bit much to pay for a knife, in particular when I now live in a smaller apartment with lots of kids running around everywhere (outside the apartment).

I guess what I'm asking is, will a sheath cost me more than 150 bucks? In that case I'll just throw the idea out of the window for now and go by a synth or something. Cheers :)

Well, a leather sheath produced here will probably cost 60-75, depending on options. Then shipping and customs. Kydex is usually a little less.

I've used Harry at savagesheaths.com for a few leather sheaths for Busse knives and they are usually under $100.

I doubt a sheath for a BOSS Jack will cost anywhere near $150 USD.

But I wouldn't worry about that; it's the INFI addiction you need to worry about.:foot:;):D

Welcome to the forums, Cheers!

Ok. Cheers tom. That gives me something to consider. I'll check out some local alternatives, although I really dont want to have to send a potential boss around for measurements.

Edit: Oh, and thanks to you other guys as well. You're fast people ;)

Look for a user of this forum called "azwelke". He makes awesome kydex sheaths and has really good prices. And shipping to Europe is not a problem for him  And he has a boss jack, so no need of sending him the knife for sheathmaking.

Ok. Cheers guys. I'll keep your tips in mind. I think it may be just as expensive to buy from neighbouring countries as in the US though. Shipping is much less than the vat and whatnot that gets added after shipping. That knifemaker in Bergen is interesting though. Some pretty knifes there.

Buy Brown will ship you a sheath for a great deal.
I ship all over the world.

e-mail me & I will fix you up.

For that kind of price hike, you should just go to the Blade show in Atlanta and pick it up yourself!

However, I'm not sure that the Boss Jack is really what you're looking for. I think you need one of these... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gafXCEWZpkU

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!!!

I learned how to make sheaths my self out of leather and simple hand tools. Although, Now I do have a cheap $30 harbor freight 1x30 belt sander with combo disk grinder. Makes the edges much easier to finish.

I would look around locally. There has to be some one up there with some skills with either kydex or leather.

I can say that if import of the sheath is the option you choose, there are great makers on here.

David Brown always gets a nod from me. Also, I have owned Alzweke and his sheaths are great as well.

Mashedcat, many others.

Then you have the leather.

You should be able to get a sheath easy for under 70-80, before all the shipping and taxes. Sucks that the import taxes are that mind blowingly high. 200%+ increase!

as a poor person I generally go by lowest price possible with regards to sheaths, so I tend to make them myself. If I wanted quality and was going to use the knife a lot and had the money to buy a sheath, BuyBrown is excellent.

There is no questions that you need the knife. Get it :D  Concerning the sheath, I would look for a good custom sheath maker in Europe, so you don't have to pay customs.

You can't go wrong with Buy Brown for kydex or Chuddy Bear & Armorall for leather. I have a few or more of each and like them all.

Yup, no question that you need the knife... and a sheath.

That's how it all-l-l starts.

Then you find yourself going from this:

to this faster than you believed possible and wonder why you are always broke:

The two Boss Jacks at the bottom right corner are in BB kydex. ;)

Thanks a bunch for the feedback guys. You're a helpful (and definitely addicted) bunch. In fact this must be one of the most active forums on the planet, in particularly in terms of niche interests, judging from the prompt and many replies! I think I'll go for it.

Oh, and I'll be sending you a mail mr. Brown. ;)

Edit: Yeah! Went ahead and ordered the Boss Jack (black blade, black canvas micarta as I prefer a non slippy surface). All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy (well, dull is definitely not the right word for these babies). Looking forward to receiving it! Thanks again guys (and so it begins).
