To lanyard or not.

I like them on both fixed blades and folders.
I don't always use them, but it is nice to have them there just in case.

I like'm on both fixed and folders.

Yeah I'm crazy, but what do you want me to do about it

Like them on both, usually do but don't always use them. It is a nice option. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I didn't think so for a long time but most of my sheath knives have them now some of my folder's but let's face it you cant hardly put one in a gent's knife because there is not enough room

i like having a lanyard on large bowies, and camp knives, especially when there is no guard. this keeps you hands from riding up on the blade, if it's tight enough. also keeps you from accidentally throwing a knife when your really chopping. the bowie knife i made, that is my favorite, has a lanyard on it, it's very useful.

I like a lanyard hole on most knives. A lot of them tend to be too small though, and rough or sharp around the edge. I also like a good bail on a folder, which I don't see often enough IMO.

Them:"What's that clipped to your pocket, a beeper?"
Me:"Uuh....yeah, something like that."

Every knife I make now has a lanyard hole. Not everyone actually uses the lanyard, but knowone seems to mind the hole being there. I think having it, lets the end user decide later.

I usually go Lanyardless most of the time, the exception is the most recent knife that I have, the Chris Reeve Umfaan, the sheath carry for that calls for a lanyard to retrieve it from the sheath, otherwise I opt not to have one on a knife. The sheath for the Umfaan has the knife deep enough to hold it so that you really can't get a purchase on it with your fingers, so the lanyard stays on that one.

William Henry does a nice touch with their line of folders, in that they make a recessed area at the end of the handle so the fob or lanyard comes out from between the liners and doesn't break up the lines of the overall knife, slick work. I've not added a lanyard to one of these but I might do so on the Pearl Lancet that I just got.

When I had a lanyard on my SAK knives they tended to get in the way when I closed the knife up, frustrating to say the least, so I don't put them on unless needed.

Like 'em, especially on knives that are going to be used for heavy duty cutting/chopping or where could get lost easily. Always nice to have the option whether to use or not though there are some knives that a lanyard hole would be out of place or not look right.
