Hogs and pigletts alike,
I haven't ordered a FBM yet, and was trying to decide between the LE and the CG version. Funds are limited. (college student) I have a HR and am not a big fan of the bevels, so naturally I'm not a huge fan of the looks of the CG version. Also, I love a satin or DC blade so in that case the LE fits the bill. But where I get stuck is the price. This blade will be a user. So would i be crazy to buy an LE for a user when i can almost buy 2 CG's for the same price?
I guess I'm wondering if you other guys will be using the LE, or if it will be a safe queen. Also I'm thinkin if I were to get the LE as a user, and down the road i really need some funds could it still sell for a decent price?

Thanks for any input!!

1 college student to another...pull more loan money. But from one sensible person to another, if it will be a user...go for the CG. But no matter what, don't put yourself in finacial compromise to buy anything. I went for a CG with Mag handles in case you were wondering.

It looks like you might have answered your own question. If you have the funds for the LE and it won't put you in a major bind then get it. Otherwise, make the smart choice. I'm sure that the CG FBM will be more knife that you will need and will handle anything that you can throw at it.... or throw it at. :D

Focus on the most important things, your health, family, education, etc., Busse will be here long after you finish school and I'm sure Jerry will have another blade that we will all be going GA GA for then. Actually, when has Jerry ever released a blade that we haven't gone GA GA for? ;) :D

From what I recall about being in a coed college; the last thing I'd spend money on is a knife. I could just see myself sitting at home on weekend nights looking at my $700 knife when I could have been out with say.... Jenna 10-14 more times.

Either model is a treasure so whatever you decide, you won't be wrong. Either one will outlast you!

If you don't get the one you want you'll never be totally happy with it, if your going to use it $700 is not much for a knife you can use the rest of your life.
Almost all Busse knives sell for what you payed for it if not more.
I bought one of each, I want to see what one feels better in my hand and I'll turn around and sell the other one.
So get the one you want...;)

You have already got great advise above. You can't go wrong with either model, and if you don't like one that you get then you can always sell it and not be out anything. Finances at this point in your life can be a make or break issue so think about it before you pull the trigger. If you are buying the CG grade to use then I really can't think you will be disappointed even with the bevels. Just MHO.:)

I am a college student too man.....I just ordered an LE and a Green with black G-10 Mags CG(Like I said I would, Laura is sooo sweet). All I can say is if there's anyway to do it, do it. You wont regret buying whichever one appeals to you the most you WILL regret not buyin an LE if its what you really want.

Oh the LE for me may or may not be a user. I dont really have any safe queen busse's yet so it may be the first. I'll use whichever feels like it wouild use better.

For the love of god, whichever one you get, please please USE IT!!! Life is too short to not use something like that! Use it for me and others who can't afford one! Thanks in advance, oh and can we see pix? sweeeeet...

Thanks for the input everyone!!
I have placed an order for the LE
...And the waiting begins!
