Hello Gentelmen,
I have an Apex which I have had for a month or two and am still learning to use it. I seem to be getting the hang of things and most of my knives are pocket folders of 4 inches or so.
Would a microbevel work well on these blades. I kinda don't like the idea of haveing to go back and start all over again once the microbevel is gone.

Will they be any sharper with the microbevel verses non microbevel.
Advice Please or suggestions,

Armilite

Armilite,

From what I understand, the advantage of the microbevel is that it is easier to maintain and you abrade less steel that if you were to set a flat bevel. The microbevel will be less sharp at first than a flat ground bevel at a steep angle, but will hold the edge better.

I'm not sure what you mean by "starting all over again". You can maintain just the microbevel and just touch up the secondary bevel occassionally. With an Edge Pro, it's even easier, just keep track of what angle you sharpened the knife at.

For an example on how to do it with an Edge Pro, read the section, Sharpening at 2 Angles
