To Oil or Not?

Was debating wether or not to oil the handle slabs on a busse. I have seen some pics of oiled handles and seemed to really bring out the color. If so what type of oil would you use and can it be washed off. Any negative affects by oiling the handles. Thanks in advance.

I think it's just aesthetically pleasing. No pluses or minuses to doing it.

Oil it. If you don't like it, it can be removed with hot soapy water, or it'll just wear off.

Go with mineral oil, which can be found at your pharmacy in the laxative section. Unlike vegetable oils, it won't go rancid.

Also works well for conditioning wooden cutting boards.

I recommend hand oil.......go out and use the knife....the slabs will darken.

A little warm water and soap and a dish scrubby will take care of anything you put on them.
