  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I have a Gen4 3.5 slicer and it's a great knife, but I do not carry it at all. I feel like it's almost a waste to have. Should I part with her or not fellow herd? I still have, use and carry my warnie which has become a super favorite.

Well.... If you don't forsee yourself carrying it, then... But I just rotate which one's I carry... They're all my favorites! Yes some I like a little more, but...

Slicer is a great grind!!!

That's a question you must answer yourself my man. My philosophy has always been if it's not getting carried then it's out the door to make way for another hinderer that I will carry. Good luck with your decision. Don't do anything you might regret later. :)

I have a slicer and Wharnie too. Honestly, I like my wharnie better, I tend to carry it more (4-5 days out of 7 some weeks). I had a the same thought that you had about dumping the slicer to free up some funds and get something new (maybe a firearm). That thought was fleeting however. I have decided that the slicer is just too useful to get rid of and if I want something else, I will buy it, not trade into it. Good luck with your decision.

It is a great grind......I am so torn.

This is normally my philosophy.

Bit by the wharnie too I see?

My advise, for what it's worth: Do not. I have moved knives only to later regret it. The only time I move a Hinderer is to fund another immediately. I had finally had my perfect herd together: the 20CV XM-18 3.5 in both a Slicer and a Spanto. I was good I convinced myself. Dummy me :). I traded my Spanto 3.5 for my ultimate Hinderer....to me at least. I traded up into a XM-24 semi-sterile w/ black carbon fiber scale. YUMMMMY!!!

My point being, I only move one for one. Hold it until you find an exact perfect replacement.
