To Polish or Not?

Is there a recommended compund to polish stainless steel blades, e.g., Fallkniven, to remove tiny blemishes, etc., and is it even recommended that one polish?

Polishing is up to you. If you want a shiny blade go for it. I think polishing adds a hint of class and removes minor blemishes. Of course polishing also brings out the fine scratches in nickel silver. It's also something fun to do on a rainy day.

I use Metal Glo. There are many others out there like Flitz, etc.

One word of caution: Use rubber gloves if you do a lot of polishing. The chromium can be absorbed in small amounts and can cause some heavy metal build up in your body which I have seen.
