Is the Leatherman ratchet proving to be robust and a good thing, I just picked up a bit kit for my wave and want an extension. I am guessing the ratchet won't fit nicely into a sleeve on a sheath due to the bulk of the ratchet.

TLDR: what's best for bit extension, ratchet version or plain version.

Personally I say none.
I'd pair it with one of these ( just ordered it VIM Tools RFB400K, OEM has endless variants)

or this one ( same OEM, $14 from o'riley auto parts ) which I carry now in the accessory loop on my leatherman sheath.

BTW TXtoolcrib had a review / test on the ratcheting adapter when it first came out and it broke on him.
I believe it was the gear housing which busted open, to me it looked like sintered steel.

I think the leatherman ratchet is extremely convenient in the role as a tool you can carry very easily and it makes typical screwdriving much faster. It is not heavy duty and I wouldn’t put a ton of torque on the ratchet. It’s worth having in my opinion.

I would love the Ratchet but they're not available where I live and Amazon who ship here cheaply don't seem to have them yet.
