To Refurb or not to refurb

After carrying a small sebenza for 6 months, then carrying a large sebenza for 8 months, I've decided that the large is more than I need and am happier with a small.

I'm considering selling it, would it sell better after a refurb? Or should I just sell it for approximately $40 less than normal used price?

Or should I hold onto it and see if someone wants to work a trade? I suppose it's still a good idea to do the refurb for trading purposes.

Opinions?

I guess it depends on the knife's current condition. After six or eight months of regular carry my large Sebenza was pretty marked up.

Try for a month selling it without the refurb, giving the buyer that option. You never know, somebody might actuall ywant to buy one to use it. ;)

If that doesn't work, then it can't hurt.

I would say don't do the refurb and let the person buying make the decision. That way they get the benefit of the lower price (and hopefully you sell it faster). Plus... they may decide they don't need/want to refurb the knife. Or like me... they may have access to a bead blaster and could do the handles on their own. I bought a pretty marked up Large Classic and used my pop's bead blaster and the handles look great.

Just my thoughts...good luck selling.
