Just wanted to say a few words to Sal, and all that are part of the Spyderco Family. I do not get very involved with typing much on the forums, as you can see from my join date and total postings, but I feel the need to offer out a big THANK YOU!
In the last few years, I have been building a modest knife collection, and I use most of what I collect. I have carried a knife for 20 plus years now, and use one everyday. My collection has seen various manufactures, and I will admit that at the beginning of last year, I was leaning towards Kershaw as being my primary staple for collecting and EDC.
Here I am a year later, and I have sold off quite a bit of my stuff to grow my Spyderco collection.
I have made my home here at Spyderco. I visit this page now more than any other, and I have been overwhelmed with the interaction of Sal and all those from Spyderco with their fans. I would fill up a lot more pages with the praises I have for the Spyderco knives that I have added to my collection, and I continue to wait with extreme excitement as to see what is around the next corner. I have been bitten by the Spyder big time.
I have found the members of this forum here to be very helpful as well. It is because of you guys that I have an Orange Millie on the way.
Funds are often very tight for me, being the father of three little girls, and when I buy a knife, I often have to sell something off to make it happen. The research done here, and the great responses from the Spyerco family make that process of selection so much more enjoyable.
Sal, keep up the good work. I love your knives, your selection, your willingness to keep your finger on the pulse of your customers, your customer service, and all the nice surprises you throw out in the way of sprint runs, etc.... As far as I am concerned, Spyderco is king of the hill for production companies right now. Benchmade and Kershaw can not hold a candle to you. At least for me.
You have my loyalty and my money (when I have that to spend).
THANK YOU ALL!

Yeah I have to say that without a doubt Spyderco makes a great product. I've been carrying knives all my life and Spyderco was one of the first companies to come out with an ambi clip that wasn't custom or so out of my price range. At that time I retired my molded clip Endura and started carrying a Delica 3.
Thinking about it I'd have to say the Delica has been my most carried item. 11 years clipped in my pocket every single day. I can't think of another item I've had that's lasted that long and still works. At least not something that was carried and used daily. It's traveled with me and came in handy countless times. It wasn't until last month that I stopped carrying it. That's only because I bought a Delica 4 and have been carrying that every day.
So I agree. Thanks for making a product that has lasted and still works today as well as it did the day I purchased it.

Can't say that about too many things anymore.

yes excellent post. I recently got into knives and it was because of the beautiful spyderco designs. When I started poking around online knife communities I was surprised to find out that a lot of people find them ugly because the very first time I saw a spyderco knife I thought it looked amazing and I knew I wanted one for my first knife. I ended up getting a dragonfly and I couldn't be happier with it.

I wish I could buy more cause there are so many drool worthy models coming out this year but I'm poor so I'm probably only going to be able to get one more. I'm gonna have such a hard time deciding, darn you sal and the designers at spyderco! :p

i will have to agree, i EDC my spydies daily, :D
great quality, great out of the box sharpness, spyderco is my go to company for folding knives. :D

Started carrying a knife with a clip as a back up in 1992. It was a Spyderco. Strayed many times to other designs, other brands, other carry modes. But as of today, the knife still clipped to my right front pocket is still a Spyderco.

Thank you Sal.

Yeah I have to agree that Spyderco is my favorite brand and that they have the some of ht best customer service around. Not that I do not like Benchmade knives but they just do not click with me, and I do not see their president getting on the forums here or at the floor in SHOT, just do not see it happening, and not that I was at SHOT but I know for sure that Sal was there. And hey I like my Nitrous Styker and I have had 2 other BM's in the past.

I agree. I have acquired 4 spyderco knives in the past couple of months which to some is not a lot but I have a modest collection and do not buy that often. Good work Spyderco!

:thumbup: A spydie has been in my pocket for a while now. I dont even remember the last edc knife I carried. Fantastic work Spyderco, and thanks for keeping the prices reasonable. Very High value.

Only had to deal once with customer service and they bent over backwards to help me.
Customer service is what the name says with Spyderco.
Great company and a accurate post.

I'm right there with you man. Bought my first spyderco about 4 years ago and have been hooked ever since.

Just to expand on this point, I first became aware of Spyderco when I received a Salsa as a groomsman's gift a few years ago. To me the Salsa is one of those knives that screams Spyderco, with its very broad leaf blade and squat dimensions. It's night-and-day different from the traditional Buck and Case folders I always saw as a kid. I certainly didn't find the Salsa beautiful, but once I handled and used it I immediately saw the value of its design as a tool, and over time and use, it became beautiful to me. I now have several Spydercos and I don't think any of them (with the possible exception of my odd little CF Kiwi) is beautiful visually, but they are all beautiful as tools.

Spyderco is that rarest of things - it seems to be a sincere company, dedicated to providing the best quality and value it can, with substance always taking priority over style. Sal deserves all the kudos as an honest gentleman first, and a businessman second.
