I own a WEPS, worksharp Ken onion & water stones and have enjoyed sharpening knives for the past few years. I can get a mirror polish on my global knives with the WEPS that was using all the stones up to 1000, ceramic to 1600 and stropping on the leather.....takes a while mind you
For pseed bought a worksharp ken onion with the grinding attachment and it’s fantastic for convex edges....I was putting convex edge on the Ken onion and a micro bevel using weps...using the Ken Onion sander alone would not give me as good results as the weps but way faster.....have a leather belt on order so lets see
Anyway....my mother wanted an easy sharpener for herself and I ordered the Spyderco Sharpmaker for her.....touched up my own knives with it and I tell you I have am just so impressed with it.....it is just so fast and easy ...... I have ordered one for myself with the ultra fine rods (came today)..........great product ...I have seen a video of Murray Carter criticising this....I understand his point that the edge will work it’s way up the blade and edge will become fat but his criticism let me not to buy this.......anyway I love this product so compact and portable. For speed in future I will thin my knives using the WSKO and sharpen them using the spyderco incl fine rods and strop using longstryder strop.......so much faster and results are very impressive.........

i own the benchstones (same material, just freehand version) and am really liking them so far. I might use nothing but my spyderco ceramics for small folding knives.

I have had mine going on 20yrs.

The pouch is falling apart

Dead simple to use Great edge everytime

Are you using the same stones from 20 years ago? Or have you gotten them replaced? If they last 20 years that's a very nice deal.
