I have a Lg 31 with natural micarta. Double lug. Carried it every so lightly a couple times. Factory edge. A few small snail trails in the typical spots. Micarta has a little dirt on it (don’t we love natural micarta for that :p).

Getting ready to sell (I like my Lg 21 better). The micarta needs (in my opinion) a little cleanup, maybe soap and water? Just looks like I had some dirt on my hand when I grabbed it. Can’t do anything about the snail trails, but there aren’t many. Blade has factory edge.

So, should I spa it before I sell it? Should I clean it up a little (how to clean micarta...)? Will the extra value having it minty fresh be worth the time and money it takes to send it in? What say you fine folks? :)

Just my opinion but I wouldn’t think it is worth it. CRK is going to charge $17.50 maybe to send it back to you? Plus your shipping cost to get it there. For me personally I don’t mind a few snail trails. They are inevitable. Now to someone else they may be willing to pay the extra to have it spa’d. List it for what you’re hoping to get without the spa and just see how it goes. Good luck

As far as cleaning micarta I always just use a rag, warm water and soap. Usually brings it right back to how it came from the factory.

Should clean up easily with a little soap and a tooth brush. Sending it in likely will not be cost effective. Spa-ed or not it is not new and the sales price will reflect that. Sending it in will cost about $35 and time(and at least a little risk of lost in the mail). Unless the buyer plans to put it in a drawer for life, most realize they will immediately be adding snail trails again.
So I say no

Thanks guys. I think I’ll just give her some love and put her up on the exchange. I appreciate the help :)
