To the Collectors.... Display???

Although my "collection" is comparably small at this time, it's growing quickly and storing them in their boxes on or in my nightstand isn't working for me. I want to see them and have them be seen. I don't believe any are over the $200 price point so no safe queens. How do you guys display your knives? All or just a few?

photo 5.jpgphoto 2.jpgI display about 30 to 35 of my knives in wooden display cases with glass fronts--where the glass 'traps' or 'pins' if you will, the knives in place. Boxes like these shown on this site listed as display cases: http://www.meadowsdisplaycases.com/displaycaseprice.htm#jersey

This isn't close to all my knives, but is a nice way to display a few specific knives--if I was going to display my entire collection, I would buy more display cases like these. you can find a lot of them on the big auction sites, and it is definitely worth shopping around, they vary widely in price. I don't have the link to the place I purchased mine, wish I did, they offered a great price, and I had my pick of felt color for the liner in the box. I think this is a nice and attractive way of displaying many things--knives chief among them.

I put mine on my bookcase in my "den" (spare bedroom). With a house full of big dogs I don't worry about break-ins.

Made a "wall" of sorts for folders -- about 1.5 meters wide, 1.5 meters tall, taped some "wallpaper" to the block of wood, and added a bunch of screws with some plastic tubing on horizontal lines (2 screws per folder.).

I'm going to have something like this built I think. Looking at my knives brings me immense joy

Very nice setup, almost looks like a knife shop. I use to have a similar setup on my bookcase until I realized how horrible it would be if there was an earthquake. You don't really have that problem in Florida.

I don't display my knives any more. I used to back when I was younger (in a very nice custom display case that my dad made for me many years ago), but not less than a week later after setting up my beautiful display case, the apartment next to me got burglarized, and the guy lost everything. I don't live in an apartment anymore, but all my knives and guns (other than what I'm carrying) are all safely stored in quality safes.

I have a display case similar to the one Fish30114 posted that my wife got me for Christmas many years ago. I display knives in it that are sentimental to me, but that I don't use. Just a couple I had as a kid, a couple my Grandpa made, and a few my Dad carried. (Dad is still kickin' - he just gave me a few he doesn't carry any more and I'm proud of 'em.)

Holy schitt!!! THAT is awesome! Very nice display! It's a work of art. Seriously man, you should be proud of that. In fact, I think everyone who posted a pic has a nice display. joruti - if you ever want to sell that Kershaw Boa with multi-colored handle please let me know. My wife carried one for years and years and she lost it. She is still distraught about it to this day. Seriously! platedude@gmail.com

If they're worth collecting, they're worth keeping secure.
