so...how's things , jens? did you get that astk confirmed ? post here if you are addicted to dotd and prowl the forums specifically waiting for the magical moment -- what was the best deal you ever got off the dotd? what is your favorite dotd piece?

I really like the dui chirra i got off the dotd as well as the manakama !
 
I'm torn between my Trisuli Ghaule and my Mini AK Bowie. The Trisuli is a great knife and the Bowie came right when I needed it and the planets aligned and I was able to nail it. It's like it was meant to be or something.

Tell me again the overall length on that Maus? I always forget. Maybe my brain is subconciously blocking it out.
 
Just got word that the IT people are installing a web filter on all dept computers. Hope my two beloved forums are deemed safe by the new filter or it could be a life changing event for bawanna.

I consider both forums mental health therapy and necessary, I'm sure the web filter won't care one iota. Fingers crossed.

Web Filter:eek: Man that just aint right! Maybe they are just targeting social media and such. Hopefully they dont know about this cool place. That would be a great loss to us all Bawanna! I know you'll still here talking to us but still aint right! Good luck to ya! Let us know. Maybe you should pick up a few of them Kags for the IT guys before they start the filtering.
 
maybe you can actually ask if it is ok that you browse these forums at work? fingers crossed indeed, would really suck to lose the lurk!
 
Here it is better not to ask. If you ask and they say no and you do it anyway, your in trouble. If you don't ask and do it then you just didn't know. Technically not suppose to be here anyhow.
No auction sites, no pay pal, that stuff. Used to block it completely, lately I've been able to access. Not sure what the new "filter" will do until they install it.

I'm too far away from the modem to bring my laptop to work, I'll figure out a way, there's always a way if you want something badly enough.

It seems like I'm always here but I'm really not, just pop in, pop out, I really do have a lot of real work to do but no harm checking in with pals through out the day. Am I right?
 
If you pull out your AKB for the IT guy he might make a special exception for you. Just to show it to him, of course. ;)

The ASTK from Lacchu which I already own has an amazing handle (for my hands) and the blade shape is great. Its just that it is a 32oz monster which I am only able to control as long as I keep hitting the gym.
So this new 27oz ASTK should allow for some margin and give me room for some workout slack during the holidays And who knows, even if I am always in good shape I might have to use a Kuk when I am tired and then I will be grabbing this "little" guy here. Also good to save a few ounces on my hiking trips which I will be starting again in spring.

I like my 32oz deep orange slight brownish wood handle but the new 27oz ASTK's combination of black horn shinyness and white metal is simply stunning.
Cant wait to hold it in my hand and I doubt I have to very long. Two days tops, since Reno is just a few hours from here

Will take a picture of the little and the big brother (same father) once the little one arrives.

Ps: Would never surf the webs during work unless my job requires it. Made my last boss quite happy by getting good deals on lab equipment at ebay :D
 
Being a dept armorer I have reason to shop gun stuff, I also usually find equipment for the guys here including knives and such. A couple have KLVUK's. I don't want to cultivate them too much and add more sharks to the DOD thing.

The IT guy is ok, I'm pretty sure he's not behind the plan. They recently went to an outside IT provider but kept the one guy as an on site quick fix guy. We get along fine. If it blocks me, I'll probably approach him directly and see if he can approve this and the other site. If he's good for it, I'll take care of him, have in the past, if he don't.......well off with his head!
 
Well the web filter police got activated today and so far so good. Both my beloved forums are apparently safe and ok for me to visit, if not technically within the rules at least doable.
I can no longer check my home email from work at least for now, unless there's another path to do so but I'll be ok with that.
 
So you wont know if you won something from DOTD until you get home? Now that suspense would kill me! You would have to call Mrs.B at home to find out if you won that new Khukri? That would give her advanced warning for your regular DOTD beating! That doesnt sound like a good deal:eek:

no sir , they are posted by yangdu as a new thread in the HI main, very rarely our supermoditerator karda will also post one, depending on where the stock is.

will almost always have a date beside the thread title , so they are easy to pick out, if you want to see what was offered recently just look for threads with dates in title!

huzzah mc, I have been waiting for one too, i just like seeing the stuff if anything.
