I've come across the opportunity to trade my Lum Chinese zdp189 for a Spyker (the knife, not the car haha).
I've always wanted a Spyker because it's a collaboration between two great knife companies and it's not likely that it'll happen again. I'm not sure if I would use it or just collect it.
On the other hand, I have the Lum. I always thought the blade shape was really good looking and functional, but I expected it to be larger (I hadn't handled one before purchasing). So I never warmed up to it enough to use it and it has sat in it's box since. I just took it out to take some pictures and I feel like it grew while sitting in the box. It just seems larger than I remembered, and I'm warming up to it, I've even thought it would be a good knife to carry.
To sum it up, the Spyker will be a one of a kind, and the Lum Chinese, well I could always just get the regular version later on. But I think it might turn to be one of those knives that you sell or trade and later end up regretting it.
I'm not really asking "what would you do?", but comments and thoughts are welcome.
