Toad, Cricket or What?

Aloha!!!

Most definitely the Cricket SE!!! That lil' reverse S blade with serrations are wicked in an EDC and can do some damage in a SD role. I have trained with all but the SS Version. I am sure it is as good, if not better than the Alum., and FRN...it's just that I gotta commit to mine by taking off that plastic protector! LOL!

God bless, and train safe.

the cricket is much bigger than the toad and its blade is curved so i think they're not in same category...
If you can't decide, Take them both !!! :)

Aloha!

Forgot to say that for STRICTLY utility, the Toad excels at that. In a SD role however, you may end up pissing off the perp by cutting them with the Toad! LOL!

That;s why I favored the Cricket in the dual role question you asked, but as Senate said, Get em both! :D

Of course! What was I thinking !! I'll get them both :D :D

Has anyone ever produced a Cricket with G10 handles? I'n not overly keen on FRN, and the SS is a bit high profile, and G10 would match my others

No G10 that I know of, Just FRN, SS, ALU, and CF. FRN is great stuff though, and it makes the handle just a little wider than the SS. So not only is it more grippy, but it gives a bit more to hold onto as well.

The part you miss with the FRN is the solid click of the blade locking against the stainless handle ala CRK sebenza style nested lock.

The SS Serrated Cricket I own is my most used knife and in my top 5 of any knife I've ever used.
