Toad or Mouse?

I've always loved a nice straight-edge gent's style folder, and just saw the pics of the mouse and toad. they're beautiful! Problem is, I just can't decide... Any owners, if you could give me the specs, quirks, etc I'd just love it! Thanks!

Both are nice, but I say go for the Mouse because the clip is positioned for tip-up carry (which I prefer), the steel is great (VG-10, same as my beloved Fallknivens), and there's more belly to the blade. If you want to carry tip down or if you want a serrated edge, go for the Toad.

I just got a "plain edge" Toad. The next Spyderco I buy is going to be a Mouse. It's a tough decision when you're thinking about which to buy first. I chose the Toad because it's an odd, sturdy little knife that fell in love with the first time I noticed it in my dealer's case.

(Actually, my wife got it for me as a birthday gift. We've been married a long time and she could see how much I liked the Toad.)

Ah, another chance to speak in praise of the Mouse. Regular readers may already be familiar with my infatuation with this particular model. I have seen the Toad in person and I liked it. I like small knives and it's a nice piece. The Mouse, however, I saw only on the computer before I got mine. And I knew I had to have it. The handle is pleasingly oversized giving excellent control. It's aluminum, smooth to the touch and very durable. I love the contrast between the polished steel of the lock, fasteners and clip against the greyish aluminum, it gives a really "mechanical" look to the knife. The blade, as mentioned above, is VG-10. I've been greatly satisfied with it. It gets and stays super sharp and sharpens easily too. Highly corrosion resistant as well. The blade shape is my favorite (drop point) and works for everything I've thrown at it (paper, cardboard, food, rope, string, plants, fiberglass insulation, plastic, and lots of hair off my arm.) I say this every time, if you're looking for a small knife you will not be disappointed if you get a Mouse!

Wonderful! Sounds like the Mouse it is! Where should I order it from? Also, how do the aluminum scales hold up? Thanks!

Uh-Oh,
I don't have the Mouse, but I have 3 Toads.
I like the Toad because it's a liner lock with excelent steel for the blade.
I carry mine daily-even leave the Unfaam at home alot.
The Toad is very "mechanical" ant it's finish and mfg. quality is superve.
I'll still check the Mouse because all the positive statements in this post.
