Saw Tobin Smith's work on this site a few months ago... Got on his wait list and he contacted me about 3 weeks ago to let me know I was next. Last night he emailed with the finished results... It goes in the mail tomorrow. Now I feel like a kid waiting for Santa. Titanium, carbon fiber, blue & green anodized back spacers, M390 blade steel.

Awesome blade shape! Great pocket clip! Great all around knife, nice.
 
He makes a great knife, I have one just like that with a cpm 3v blade and different back spacer. It's my favorite edc knife and it is really smooth to open after breaking in. I think you will really like it.

What is the blade length on this one, And how long we're you on the list
 
3" blade, 7 1/8" overall. I first emailed Tobin at the end of October and got on his list.
It's getting delivered tomorrow... My guess is I'll like it so much I'll order another (or 2). I really love the blade shape, it's very much like my Sebenza Insingo... and to get a custom for the same price as a "factory made" Sebenza is a real deal.
 
Congrats on an awesome knife, I have had mine for a couple of month's and it's a fantastic knife and he puts a wicked edge on M390, i'm going with bolsters also on my next one.

I like mine and use it almost daily, Tobin makes a really nice folder and the 3" blade size wharnclife is a perfect edc. The titanium bolsters and carbon fiber on mine have held up great, no real signs of wear. It is also the most solid liner lock I have owned every bit as good as my large 21 sebenza in the lock up and blade action.:thumbup:

Yes, three separate pieces in two different colors. Very cool.
The knife is a bit larger than my Small Sebenza. It locks up like a bank vault and feels great in my hand and I love the deep pocket clip.
I got back on Tobin's list, they are just too nice to not get another.
 
I'm waiting on that call..."your next." Contacted him back in December. He said it should be next month. It will be my first custom. I tried to buy a knife from Gareth Bull two years ago and have been waiting ever since. I'm fairly certain that is money lost and I will never see a knife from him.
I'm excited that Tobin has style, size and materials I like. I'm sure it will be a nice blade.
 
I've been carrying it every day since I got it. The knife is great. Perfect size, perfect blade shape, rock solid lock up, yada,yada,yada (I'm a Seinfeld fan). My next one will be just the same with a different handle material... maybe stag or ivory Micarta.
 
Tobin is definitely a man of his word. Not sure how he manages to build knives and work fill-time. I contacted him again after posting here at the beginning of the month. He said I was on the list for 7/20. Knife is in the mail now. I can really appreciate this.
